The Española Valley Humane Society is an innovative open-door shelter that cares for over 4,100 animals each year. No animal in need is turned away. Our service area, Rio Arriba County, is roughly the size of Connecticut, 5,900 square miles.

It costs about $93 to shelter and place each animal. Rio Arriba County pays $9.

City and county sources provide less than 9% of our operating revenue. The rest must be raised through private donors, grants, and fundraising events. Your help is always welcome.
