Volunteer!

Can you spare just a few hours a week or a month to help and makea difference in the life of a homeless or neglected animal?

We need you! There are many rewarding volunteer positions inEspañola, Los Alamos, and Santa Fe that directly benefit shelter animals. Weappreciate any assistance, from a few hours on an occasional basis, to aregular weekly commitment. If you’d like to help, but aren’t sure how . . .just ask. Our needs are constantly changing and growing.

Behavior Enrichment – Help improve the quality of life of an animalat the shelter. You can help us “walk every dog, every day”, or help socializeand provide comfort to a companion animal

Fostering- Provide a temporary home to kittens and puppies who needmore time to grow. Help heal a dog or cat who needs to heal from surgery or anillness. Help socialize an animal who is shy or fearful.

Mobile Adoptions -  Join us for any number of events as we bring animals to othercommunities to pursue their forever home.

Transfers – Drive our animals to other cities in New Mexico, Arizonaor Colorado where they have another chance at another shelter

Community Outreach –Assist in our many efforts in the Rio Arribacommunities.

Website – Help us maintain and update our website

Photography – Help us showcase the animals for print and websites.

Graphic Design –Help us design brochures and flyers

Poster Distribution -Help circulate our posters around Santa Fe,Los Alamos and Rio Arriba

Events –There are many opportunities to assist us with events.

Resale Stores- Help raise funds for the shelter byvolunteering at either the Barkin’ Boutique (Santa Fe) or St. Francis de Paws (Española)

Special Talents – We know you have them!So why not show them off. There are many projects from building things togardening at the shelter.
